Educational Clinical Research Training Program
The Center for Vascular Research (CVR) in the Division of Vascular Surgery, Department of Surgery, at the University of Maryland School of Medicine has developed an Educational Clinical Research Training (ECRT) Program under the leadership of Dr. Shahab Toursavadkohi ( Program Director), Dr. Khanjan Nagarsheth (Faculty and Preceptor), and Dr. Brajesh K. Lal (Director of CVR).
The Vascular Research Team consist of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Research Nurse Coordinators, Regulatory specialist, Statisticians, Residents, and Medical Students who are part of the division of vascular surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
The program is designed to train students and residents to perform retrospective and prospective studies to answer clinically relevant questions that come up during day-to-day practice and that challenge our practices locally, nationally, and internationally. The subjects for these studies are derived from within our practice in the UMMC, our own databases, and from regional and national databases.
The program has been extremely successful with multiple publications in national vascular, surgical, trauma and thoracic journals, as well as presentations at regional and national meetings.
