Aging & Neurodegeneration

An increasingly older population demands greater attention to both healthy aging of the brain and neurodegenerative disorders of aging, such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s disease. The UM-MIND pillar on Aging and Neurodegeneration encompasses research on, new fast-acting , the neural control of sleep, physical rehabilitation, motor control and neurodegenerative disorders. UM-MIND bridges collaborations and provides opportunities to advance research in exploring the brain’s motor mechanisms that contributes to movement dysfunction.
