Surgical Critical Care & Acute Care Surgery Fellowships

Eligibility

The Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center has eight (8) ACGME-accredited positions, including four (4) Acute Care Surgery American Association for the Surgery of Trauma approved positions.

Applicants must have successfully completed a Surgical residency program to be eligible for this fellowship.

 

Emergency Medicine/Surgical Critical Care Fellowship

Eligibility

The Emergency Medicine/Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Program at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center has two (2) ACGME-accredited positions dedicated to EM applicants annually.

Applicants must have successfully completed an Emergency Medicine residency program to be eligible for the fellowship.

 

Application Timeline for SCC, ACS, and EM/SCC

  • March: SAFAS opens
  • July - August: Virtual interviews conducted
  • End of July: SAFAS application deadline
  • July - August: Interviews take place
  • Late August: NRMP Rank Order List (ROL) deadline
  • September/October: Match Day

Application Process for Extracorporeal Life Support Fellowship

Applications for the Extracorporeal Life Support Fellowship are not available through SAFAS. If you are interested in pursuing the ECLS Fellowship, please email Dr. Daniel Haase and Dora Russell.
