Research within the Division of Translational Radiation Sciences (DTRS) balances a strong scientific platform with early-to-advanced-stage development of new therapeutic strategies to improve the therapeutic ratio in radiation cancer treatment. Investigators within the division take a holistic approach to interrogate the biologic complexities underlying tumor biology, treatment response, and normal tissue injury, and work to identify new biomarkers of tissue damage and recovery.
Research within the division is focused on the following major themes:
- Mechanisms and Therapeutic Strategies for Clinically Relevant Normal Tissue Injury
- Tumor Biology and Radioresistance
- Good Lab Practices (GLP)
