Rozalina McCoy, MD, MS, Associate Professor of Medicine and Associate Division Chief for Clinical Research in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition, has been asked to co-chair the American Diabetes Association's (ADA) Professional Practice Committee. The Committee is responsible for overseeing the annual publication of the standards of care used both nationally and internationally for diabetes management. Appointment is based on excellence in clinical practice and research.
As committee co-chair, Dr. McCoy will be responsible for facilitating the annual updates of the ADA Standards of Medical Care (guiding document and reference for clinicians, policymakers, and others across the globe), maintaining the Living Standards (real-time clinical guidance on diabetes management), and reviewing and facilitating the different consensus statements and recommendations endorsed or authored by the ADA.
“I am truly grateful for all of the incredible support and encouragement I’ve had since my recent arrival at UMSOM,” said Dr. McCoy, who is also the Director of the Precision Medicine and Population Health Program at the University of Maryland Institute for Health Computing. “I am honored and excited to be able to represent the School of Medicine in this prestigious position.”
