The Division of Community Psychiatry is committed to working with individuals who are living with mental health disorders to help them overcome barriers, as well as define and achieve their life goals through personalized recovery and treatment programs.
We join forces with the city and surrounding counties to offer comprehensive, streamlined care, and are proud to serve the citizens in our own community of southwest Baltimore.

Outpatient Services
The University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) Midtown Campus Outpatient Psychiatry Unit helps children and adults with behavioral and mental health needs, including:
- Stress-related adjustment problems
- Depression and/or anxiety
- Schizophrenia
- Bipolar disorder
- Substance-induced psychiatric conditions
- Hyperactivity and Attention Deficit Disorder
- Impulsivity, aggression, and problems at school
We offer comprehensive mental health treatment and case management services to children, adolescents, and adults at two locations: our Carruthers Clinic and Fayette Clinic. Both locations provide individual and group therapies, medication management, personalized case management for patients, substance use disorder services, and more.
Training and Education
We train multiple third-year psychiatry residents and social work interns, introducing them to the principles of community psychiatry and providing them with close supervision.
