Adult Psychiatric Day Hospital

The Adult Psychiatric Day Hospital at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) Midtown Campus Inpatient Psychiatry Unit works to treat patients who require more care than in a clinical setting or Emergency Department -- or who are transitioning out of inpatient care and are ready to regain a level of independent living with assistance.

The average duration at the Day Hospital is two to five weeks, and patients attend Monday through Friday from 8 am to 3 pm.

Our team of experts begin treatment plans with a comprehensive assessment with a psychiatrist, occupational therapist, social worker, and psychiatric nurse. From there, we work one-on-one with patients to manage their medications for the most effective treatment, and we also provide group therapy and case management sessions.
