Biosketch
I have be involved in the care of HIV infected induvial at the University of Maryland for the past two decades in both direct patient care and research venues. I have personally treated hundreds of individuals and acted as a PI or Co- PI on numerous studies involving HIV infected patients. I have been certified through the American Academy of HIV Medicine and acted as an educator in the various aspects of care of HIV infected patients from students in the undergraduate level thru Community Attendings physcians.
Previous and current research include studies into tobacco related pathology in HIV infected patients including women. In addition I have preformened research on the effects of HPV related disease in the HIV infection patient population. These studies have involved both laboratory, epidemologic, and interventional clinical components.
I have taught numerous course on viral related pathologeies and currently I am working on expanding care of Hepatits C infected individuals the primary care.
