Biosketch
Elena Soukhov is a medical professional specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, with an emphasis on labor and delivery. She completed an undergraduate degree in Human Biology at the University of Toronto, deepening her understanding of the complexities of human physiology and women's health. Following this, she pursued medical education at Ben Gurion University in Israel, known for its excellence in ob/gyn and fertility research.
During her residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Dr. Soukhov refined her clinical and surgical skills in women's health, with a particular focus on labor and delivery. Her commitment to this field is evidenced through her hands-on experience and research focused on reproductive health and the challenges in labor and delivery.
In addition, Dr Soukhov has a keen interest in reproductive endocrinology, specifically in endometriosis, PCOS, recurrent pregnancy loss, and IVF. She strives to improve treatment and outcomes for these conditions, utilizing her knowledge to assist patients in their journeys towards successful pregnancies.
As a faculty member, she is passionate about educating the next generation of healthcare professionals, emphasizing patient-centered care, technical proficiency, and the importance of empathy and continuous learning in obstetrics and gynecology.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Soukhov enjoys being involved in her local community and spending time with her husband, two children and dog. She speaks fluent Hebrew, Russian and English.
