Biosketch
I graduated Magna cum laude from Fordham University with a bachelor’s of science degree in Biology in 1990. I earned my medical degree from New Jersey Medical School in 1996, where I was elected a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. I followed a four-year radiology residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center, completed in 2000, with a one-year fellowship in Emergency/Trauma Radiology at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. After briefly practicing elsewhere, I joined the faculty of the University of Maryland School of Medicine as an assistant professor of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine in 2002. Since then, I have been a member of the Trauma and Emergency Radiology section at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC). The practice of the Trauma and Emergency Radiology section involves primarily the UMMC Adult Emergency Department and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.
As an Emergency Radiologist, it is my mission to serve my community by providing high quality, timely diagnosis and treatment of acutely ill and injured patients by means of medical imaging. Through research, education, and national service, I work to advance the quality of that care for patients here in Maryland and beyond. I have authored or coauthored a number of peer-reviewed journal articles, given multiple invited lectures at major Radiology meetings, and served as a manuscript reviewer for several professional journals. I am an active participant and committee member in several radiology societies, including the Radiological Society of North America, the American Roentgen Ray Society, and the American Society of Emergency Radiology.
