Biosketch

Dr. Vincent Ng, Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, specializes in musculoskeletal oncology. He is fully board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and was ranked in the top 3% nationally on the written board examination in 2013. Dr. Ng also helped organize the Bone Cancer and Soft Tissue Sarcoma Service at the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC), a multidisciplinary team of more than 20 specialists designed to provide excellent care for patients with challenging diagnoses. 

Dr. Ng strongly believes in maximizing patient function and providing opportunity for cure in the most challenging orthopaedic cases. He believes in helping patients to understand their conditions and treatment options. He is proud to be part of an excellent orthopaedic department with highly trained, well-respected partners.

As a member of multiple tumor boards, Dr. Ng discusses optimal treatment strategies for difficult surgical cases on a weekly basis. He performs more than 450 operative procedures per year and provides orthopaedic oncology and total joint arthroplasty care at six medical facilities in the greater Baltimore area.

Dr. Ng is the Director of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Course at UMGCCC. He has presented his research at numerous national and regional orthopaedic conferences and has authored more than 50 articles and chapters on topics including musculoskeletal oncology, total joint replacement, cartilage biology, and surgical technique. He has presented Grand Rounds lectures on orthopaedic oncology at multiple institutions, most recently at Prince George's Hospital Center near Washington, DC. He designed and is the Principal Investigator of the first neoadjuvant combined immunotherapy and radiotherapy trial for high-risk soft-tissue sarcoma in the United States. Enrollment in the trial begins Spring 2017.
