Biosketch
Dr. Yinin Hu is a surgical oncologist with clinical expertise in endocrine and gastrointestinal cancers. He completed his medical training at Washington University in St. Louis, followed by general surgery residency at the University of Virginia. During that time, he completed a T32 research fellowship studying melanoma immunotherapy, surgical outcomes in lung and esophageal cancer, and surgical education. He then performed advanced clinical training in surgical oncology at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. Hu's research focuses on patient decision-making, quality of life, comparative effectiveness, and cost-effectiveness in surgical care. He is also heavily invested in surgical education, and has conducted prospective research analyzing surgical learning curves and adaptive teaching curricula. His work has lead to active involvement in academic societies including the Society of Surgical Oncology, American College of Surgeons, and American Association of Endocrine Surgeons.
