Biosketch
Dr. Hansen completed residency training in Emergency Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1991, and attained Board Certification fom the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) in 1992. She has worked in both academic and community settings, and also served as a Peace Corps Medical Officer in Poland from 1999 to 2001. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she serves on the Admissions Committee and the IRB (Institutional Review Board). She works clinically at the VA Medical Center in Baltimore.
Dr. Hansen has done research and published articles in a number of areas of academic interest, including missed myocardial infarction, the utility of laboratory testing in the Emergency Department, shift work and circadian rythm, and emerging infectious diseases. She also has an active interested in mentoring and physician wellness.
