Biosketch

Dr Matthew Grant joined faculty in the Department of Pediatrics at University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2018. A Maryland native, he completed his undergraduate degree at University of Maryland, College Park in Biology prior to earning his medical degree at the Univeristy of Maryland School of Medicine. After completing his categorical pediatric residency training at the University of Maryland Medical Center, he served an additional year as Chief Resident. 

A general pediatrician, Dr Grant is faculty in the division of Community Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, working clinically in the Adolescent and Young Adult Center, a comprehensive primary care practice providing care to adolescents and young adults in West Baltimore. As an HIV specialist, he incorporates HIV medical care into primary care services for infants, children and young adults living with HIV, and ensures integrates services meeting primary care & specialty care needs. In addition to these services, AYAC supports adolescents seeking reproductive health services including contraception & STI testing, and provides comprehensive primary care services, with a focus on LGBTQ youth

His work has focused on ensuring equitable access to care for youth throughout the Baltimore region by addressing barriers to care through advocacy, education, and direct intervention.
