Biosketch
Dr. Gatz is the Assistant Medical Director of the Adult Emergency Department for the University of Maryland Medical Center. He recently completed an elective year as Chief Resident in the Department of Emergency Medicine while simultaneously completing an administrative fellowship with a strong focus in patient safety while attending the American College of Emergency Physicians' ED Directors Academy. He additionally served as the University of Maryland’s Graduate Medical Education House Staff Officer of Patient Safety and Quality during that time.
Dr. Gatz has been recognized several times for his informative lectures given at both local and national conferences. He has authored textbook chapters and several reviews, one of which was recognized at the 40th Annual lSpecialized Information Publishers Association Awards as the Best Scientific Writing or Techinical Reporting.
