Biosketch

Dr. William Chiu is Professor of Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and Director of the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Program at the University of Maryland Medical Center / R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.  He is certified in Surgery and Surgical Critical Care by the American Board of Surgery.  His clinical specialties include Trauma Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, and Soft Tissue Surgery.  Dr. Chiu is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Critical Care Medicine, and the International College of Surgeons.  He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Surgical Critical Care Program Directors Society and Past Director-at-Large for the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma and the National Trauma Institute.  Dr. Chiu is co-editor of the textbook "Critical Care Emergency Medicine, Second Edition."  (Farcy DA, Chiu WC, Marshall JP, Osborn TM, eds.)  New York, NY:  McGraw-Hill Education; 2017.
