Biosketch
Amanda Chao, DPM is a Kansas City native who serves as a foot and ankle surgeon at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in the Orthopaedics Department. She is passionate in providing expert and patient-focused care across the greater Baltimore and Southern Maryland region. Dr. Chao is currently board qualified in Foot and Ankle Surgery with the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Dr. Chao graduated summa cum laude from the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and completed her residency at Legacy Health in Portland, Oregon, which involved extensive and comprehensive surgical training in reconstruction, limb salvage, and trauma. She then went on to graduate from the prestigious University of Maryland Limb Preservation and Deformity Correction Fellowship. Dr. Chao’s clinical interests are in reconstructive and revision surgery, limb salvage, sports-related injuries, trauma, and complex wound management.
In her free time, Dr. Chao enjoys staying active and being outdoors. She is an involved member of the community. She enjoys cycling, playing soccer, and spending time with her family, friends, and Labrador Retriever.
