Biosketch

Dr. Chang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Division of Addiction Research and Treatment at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Her areas of clinical interest and practice are wide, inclusive of (but not limited to) sports psychiatry, emergency psychiatry, addiction and co-morbid general psychiatric conditions. Dr. Chang's primary role is as an in-patient consultant on the substance abuse consultation/liaison team, assisting medical treatment teams with the management of addiction in the context of acute medical illness. In her outpatient work, Dr. Chang provides buprenorphine maintenance and addiction treatment through the novel means of telepsychiatry. She serves as the lead psychiatrist with the hospital sickle cell multidisciplinary team and provides psychiatric treatment to the outpatient sickle cell population in a co-located clinic with hematology. Dr. Chang also works at University of Maryland, College Park as a psychiatrist under the athletic department, within in the context of a multidisciplinary medical team, attending to the health of division I student athletes.
