Biosketch

Michael Berger, DPM serves as a Clinical Instructor with the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Berger returns to the University of Maryland after starting his career as a Registered Nurse in the UMMC General Operating Room. Since completion of his residency training, Dr. Berger has spent his first 5 years in practice working with underserved populations around the state of Maryland.

Some of his clinical interests include complex wound care, amputation prevention, as well as nonsurgical and surgical management of cartilage, tendon and ligament injuries in addition to offering minimally invasive treatments including ankle arthroscopy. He has lectured locally as well as nationally on the importance of limb preservation and has co-authored literature on various topics related to wound care. He is currently board eligible in Foot and Ankle Surgery with the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

During his free time, Dr. Berger enjoys staying active. He is currently an active member as a volunteer firefighter and apparatus operator with the Ellicott City Fire Department. He also enjoys golf and hiking with his wife, children, 2 Labrador Retrievers and Bernese Mountain Dog.
