Biosketch
Dr. Malik specializes in kidney, liver and pancreas transplants. He is particularly interested in living donor liver transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery. He brings a wealth of diverse surgical experience as well as unique trauma surgery experience he gained while working in field hospitals in conflict and disaster struck regions for several years.
Dr. Malik is an instructor of surgery in the Division of Transplantation at University of Maryland School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the National University of Science and Technology Army Medical College in Pakistan and completed his general surgery residency at the Armed Forces Post Graduate Medical Institute at the Combined Military Hospital in Pakistan. He received board certification in surgery from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
After serving as a general surgeon for several years, Dr. Malik completed a three-year abdominal transplant surgery fellowship in liver, kidney, pancreas and hepatobiliary surgery at University of Maryland Medical Center.
