Biosketch
Dr. Knight received her doctorate from Duke University (Durham, NC). For more than 15 years she was the director of the Center for the American History of Radiology, before joining the University of Maryland as a faculty member specializing in academic and research development. She has edited and/or authored numerous scientific and technical volumes on radiation oncology, radiology, imaging informatics, and nuclear medicine topics. She was one of the founders of the Maryland Imaging Research Technologies Laboratory at UMSOM and was the co-founder of the Imaging Ethics Roundtable. She served as national PI for the National Cancer Institute Cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid Imaging Knowledge Center and has coordinated research collaborations at UMB with UMS partners, other academic centers, and industry. She has successfully organized multicenter and multidisciplinary grant submissions and funding efforts in the radiation sciences. Her research interests include clinical and research ethics, and she is a frequent consultant and speaker on ethical challenges associated with advanced technology applications.
