Here at the University of Maryland Department of Pathology, faculty, residents, fellows, and students participate in a wide range of scientific endeavors, from basic science and translational research to clinical research. We are also proud to provide research support through our Pathology Biorepository Shared Service to our clinical colleagues throughout the University of Maryland Medical System. As part of the academic community here, everyone has the opportunity to engage research to advance public health and medical knowledge.
Pathology Biorepository Shared Service (PBSS)
The Pathology Biorepository Shared Service provides access to a collection of high-quality banked patient samples while maintaining patient confidentiality. PBSS provides pathology, histology, and histotechnology services to assist with procurement, analyses, and clinicopathologic correlations of human tissue specimens.
