Photo

ERAS and other application systems require an up-to-date professional headshot for the application. SOM Office of Public Affairs provides a professional photograph for student applicants at no additional cost. OSA will coordinate appointments in the Spring ahead of the application process. Walk-ins will not be allowed. Professional dress is recommended (e.g., shirt, jacket, and tie as appropriate); scrubs are not appropriate. The background will be all white. Re-shoots will not be offered.  When ready, the headshot will update directly to your MedScope portfolio; expect a delay of at least one to two weeks. It is the students' responsibility to upload the headshot to the application system and assign it to programs (Note that photos, like additional documents must be assigned to each program individually). We strongly recommend including a headshot with the initial application and assigning it to all programs. Once a photo is applied, it cannot be unassigned.

Note, the headshot can be obtained from MedScope by clicking on the photo and dragging it to your desktop or right clicking on the photo to save. A high-resolution photo can be downloaded by clicking on the high-res link under the photo in MedScope.

In the event you choose to attain your own headshot, note that photos must meet the following requirements for use in MyERAS: 

• File type: JPG/JPEG or PNG
• Maximum File Size: 150 KB
• Maximum Dimensions: 2.5 in x 3.5 in
• Maximum Resolution: 150 DPI
