    Please register by Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

    Platform Party and Faculty Members do not need to pick up a ticket in advance.

    Regalia

    • Rental Orders: “Faculty and Platform Party members can rent regalia by emailing DL-FacultyRegalia@umaryland.edu
      • Include your height, weight, degree type (Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate, etc.), and the institution where you earned your degree.
    • Order Deadline: All orders must be submitted by April 23, 2025. It is recommended to submit prior to the deadline to guarantee on-time delivery.
    • Order Pick-up: The regalia will be shipped to the UMB bookstore at the SMC Campus Center, and will need to be picked up from there. Orders will be available for pickup at the bookstore in early May.
    • Custom Regalia: Custom orders require 6 to 8 weeks for production. For pricing and details, email DL-FacultyRegalia@umaryland.edu.
    • Rental regalia is not eligible for a refund once the order ships.
    • After the ceremony, regalia should be returned to the UMB bookstore at the SMC Campus Center by June 20, 2025.

    Arrival Details

    Platform Party and Faculty Members should arrive via the Hippodrome’s Stage Door at 412 W. Baltimore St.

    Platform Party Arrival Time: 11:30 am – 12:00 pm

    Faculty Arrival Time: 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm (this arrival time applies to those not on the Platform Party)

    Keynote Speaker: Paul A. Offit, MD

    Paul A. Offit, MD, is an internationally recognized expert in the fields of virology and immunology. He serves as the Director of the Vaccine Education Center and professor of pediatrics in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is also the Maurice R. Hilleman Professor of Vaccinology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Offit is a well-published expert in the areas of rotavirus-specific immune responses and vaccine safety, and the co-inventor of the rotavirus vaccine, RotaTeq, recommended for universal use in infants by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

    Dr. Offit has received many national awards and recognitions for his work; he is a proud and engaged alumnus of the University of Maryland School of Medicine (Class of ’77).

    Parking

    Parking will be available at the Baltimore Grand Garage (5 N. Paca St.), next to the Hippodrome. Carpooling is encouraged. This is a UMB Garage. Hourly parking rates will apply. If you have a parking pass at another garage, it will not work at this garage for Graduation. Please note that there is no direct elevator access from the garage to the venue.

    UMB Campus Graduation Celebration

    UMB will not be hosting a university wide commencement event this year. UMB President Bruce E. Jarrell, MD, FACS, or Provost and Executive Vice President Roger J. Ward, EdD, JD, MSL, MPA, will confer degrees at our UMSOM MD Graduation Ceremony, where graduates will walk the stage to mark the start of their next chapter.
