Promotion Workshops

Female doctor learning on a laptop computerThe Faculty Development Workshop "Preparing for Promotions" is tailored to a wide range of medical specialties and aims to equip participants with essential skills for professional advancement.

In preparation for promotion, we encourage faculty to begin keeping Clinical and Teaching Portfolios to review annually with their Chairman.  This workshop will assist with the development of both the Clinical and Teaching Portfolios and offer guidelines on preparing a Curriculum Vitae.

Upon completion of this workshop, faculty members will be able to:

  • Develop a Clinical Portfolio
  • Develop a Teaching Portfolio
  • Learn to correctly research publications and citation analysis
  • Prepare a correctly formatted Curriculum Vitae

The University of Maryland School of Medicine, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, offers this live activity with a maximum of 2.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians are advised to claim credit proportional to their level of participation in the activity. Non-physician attendees can also earn 2.00 hours of credit.
