CME
The University of Maryland School of Medicine is accredited with commendation by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for faculty. The Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development is responsible for maintaining CME accreditation.
The Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development provides continuing medical education for faculty and community physicians on Cloud CME. In that capacity, we coordinate activities for nearly 5,000 physicians each year.
To maintain a license to practice medicine in Maryland, the state requires 50 hours of continuing medical education every two years. Our CME office helps physicians meet that requirement by offering a variety of in-person and online educational opportunities that are CME accredited.
The Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development offers weekly Grand Rounds presentations, seminars, conferences and online learning opportunities for faculty. In turn, our expert faculty provide CME for other physicians locally and nationally by hosting CME-accredited conferences through our conference services. OFAPD staff works with faculty to develop course content to ensure the highest academic quality.
