Graduate Programs

The majority of graduate students working towards the PhD degree in the field of microbiology and immunology will be enrolled in the GPILS Program in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology. Dr. Nick Carbonetti, Associate Professor of Microbiology & Immunology, is the Program Director. In addition, many Department faculty and students investigating microbiology & immunology topics participate in the GPILS Program in Molecular Medicine. The Department also holds an NIH T32 Training Grant entitled “Immunity and Infection” (J. Kaper, P.I.), now in the 11th year of funding. This training grant provides stipends to selected students who have passed their qualifying exams.
