Clinical Cardiologist (3-309-1189)
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting a general cardiologist to teach and provide clinical cardiology services in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. The ideal candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of the general cardiology programs at the University of Maryland Medical Center (downtown and midtown campuses) and other ambulatory sites.
Expected faculty rank for these positions will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.
The expected salary range for Assistant Professors is $223,754 (min) and $461,371 (max). The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the departmental faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental variable compensation programs. Interventionalist Cardiologist (3-309-1256)
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine seeks applicants for a faculty position in Interventional Cardiology. We seek a skilled interventional cardiologist who will perform clinical procedures at the University of Maryland Medical Center and its affiliate medical centers. The candidate will also take part in teaching medical students, residents, and cardiology fellows in addition to full time clinical activities on and off campus.
Expected faculty rank for this position is Assistant Professor or higher on a clinical educator pathway, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The ideal candidate will have training and experience in advanced procedures, including percutaneous valve therapies (eg, TAVR, TEER, tricuspid valve interventions), atrial septostomies and Complex, High Indicated PCIs. An ability to work in a collaborative multidisciplinary program including cardiac imaging and surgery is intrinsic to this position. A background in clinical research and business development would be helpful. The interventional cardiologist may be expected to take interventional cardiology call beyond the immediate downtown area.
This opening requires an MD/DO degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent). Eligibility or certification in Interventional Cardiology and licensure in Maryland is also required as is excellence in teaching and clinical skills.

Associate Professor/Vascular Biology and Pulmonary Hypertension (3-309-1258)

Advanced Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support and Heart Transplant Program (3-309-1249)
As part of the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s Heart Failure program expansion, the Department of Medicine is actively recruiting a full-time faculty member to help continue to grow our extensive clinical programs in heart failure, cardiac transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support, as well as to contribute to the scientific mission of the University. The Advanced Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support and Heart Transplant cardiologist will provide clinical cardiology services in both the inpatient and outpatient settings and will be in the donor call pool, taking UNOS heart donor call for potential matches of donor hearts to existing UMMC heart transplant candidates. It is expected that the candidate, with mentorship, will develop a research portfolio with extramural funding.
The advanced heart failure section is nationally known with an excellent track record in cutting edge mechanical circulatory support, heart transplant and in advanced heart failure. The University of Maryland Division of Cardiovascular and Maryland Heart Center are home to some of the brightest minds in the world in medical and surgical management of heart failure. The heart failure program is nationally recognized with an extended patient referral base.

Academic Electrophysiologist (3-309-1234)
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting an Electrophysiologist for its expanding Electrophysiology (EP) Program. Our service is active in all aspects of diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology, including complex ablation of VT and atrial arrhythmias, extractions, biventricular pacing, atrial appendage closures and innovative device therapy.
