Academic Gastroenterologist with Proficiency in Endoscopic Ultrasonography and ERCP (3-309-1247)

The Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting for an academic clinical gastroenterologist.  Working with our Advanced Endoscopy Program, this position will provide clinical service at the University of Maryland Downtown and Midtown Campus, as well as at the Baltimore VA Medical Center.   Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.  We offer competitive salary and benefits.  J-1 visa holders are encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates must possess superior clinical and advanced endoscopic skills and be BC/BE in Gastroenterology.  This position requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), a strong commitment to patient care and teaching, and the ability to work well in a team setting.

Academic Clinical Gastroenterologist (3-309-1240)

The Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the Baltimore VA Medical Center (BVAMC) are recruiting a full-time general gastroenterologist to provide clinical services at the University of Maryland Downtown, Midtown Campuses, the Baltimore VA Medical Center, and various UMM practices within the community, as well as local ambulatory surgical centers.  Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status, and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.  We offer competitive salary and benefits. 

This position requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), a strong commitment to patient care and teaching, and the ability to work well in a team setting.  Successful candidates must possess superior clinical and endoscopic skills and be BC/BE in Gastroenterology.  A record of clinical investigation is highly desirable.  As this position will be funded, in part, by the VA, all applicants must be U.S. citizens.

Academic Gastroenterologist (3-309-1197)

The Inflammatory Bowel team in the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the University of Maryland Downtown, Midtown and at the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Centers seeks a full-time, board certified/board eligible Gastroenterologist to join our nationally recognized multidisciplinary Inflammatory Bowel Disease program to care for a diverse and complex cohort of patients with inflammatory bowel disease.  IBD faculty collaborate with our experts in colorectal surgery, our IBD pharmacist, and our specialized social worker provider to streamline patient care.  Our IBD faculty also contribute to our clinical research enterprise and educate trainees on the care of IBD patients.  Expected faculty rank will be at the level of Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. J-1 visa holders are encouraged to apply.

In addition to board certification, this position requires an MD/DO degree from an accredited school (or foreign equivalent), and eligibility for an unrestricted Maryland license. The successful candidate must possess medical and personal skills to facilitate clinic and inpatient consultations, teach fellows, supervise APPs, and perform routine endoscopy. Clinical research experience is desirable.

GI Hospitalists (03-309-1143)

The Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine seeks three (3) full-time GI Hospitalists to provide comprehensive GI care in the inpatient hospital setting.  The GI Hospitalist will work as a team along with colleagues and GI APPS to provide GI consultation and emergent and non-emergent endoscopic procedures at the University of Maryland Medical System hospitals.  Qualified candidates must be skilled in routine endoscopic procedures, but ERCP and EUS expertise is not required.
