Academic Electrophysiologist (3-309-1234)

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting an Electrophysiologist for its expanding Electrophysiology (EP) Program.  Our service is active in all aspects of diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology, including complex ablation of VT and atrial arrhythmias, extractions, biventricular pacing, atrial appendage closures and innovative device therapy.  Candidates will be expected to expand our clinical programs as well as to provide clinical care to patients at the University of Maryland Medical Center and EP outpatient clinics at its outreach locations. 

This position will be appointed as a full-time faculty member at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.  Expected faculty rank will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Successful candidates should have a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), be board eligible or board certified in Cardiac Electrophysiology, and eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland.  In addition, a strong interest and experience in teaching and clinical activities and demonstrated experience in research is desired.

Clinical Cardiologist (3-309-1229)

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting a general cardiologist with advanced training in Cardiac MRI and CT to build an advanced imaging program, teach and provide clinical cardiology services in both the inpatient and outpatient settings at the Assistant Professor level on a clinical educator pathway.  Expertise in echocardiography, including TEE and stress echo, including board certification in echocardiography from ACE would be highly beneficial. This position will be expected to provide clinical care to patients at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Clinical Cardiologist (3-309-1222)

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine enthusiastically announces the recruitment of a general cardiologist to provide clinical cardiology services, predominantly at the Baltimore VA Medical Center.  This cardiologist will deliver care to our military veterans in both inpatient and outpatient settings at the Assistant Professor level on a clinical educator pathway. Expertise in echocardiography, as demonstrated by board certification in echocardiography, would be highly beneficial.

The University of Maryland School of Medicine maintains an active affiliation with the VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS) which is located next to the University of Maryland Medical Center in downtown Baltimore, MD. This position is expected to be geographic full-time between the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the VAMHCS.  Expected faculty rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.

This position requires a MD degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent) and candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Maryland medical license, be board certified in internal medicine and board certified/board eligible in cardiovascular medicine.  The individual we seek will have fellowship training in cardiology and will demonstrate potential for excellence in clinical care and teaching.  The ideal candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of the general cardiology programs at the University of Maryland Medical Center (downtown and midtown campuses) and at the VAMHCS.  Additionally, because this position is funded (in part) by the VA Medical Center, all applicants must be US citizens.

Cardiovascular Medicine Physician-Scientist (3-309-1160)

The Cardiovascular Medicine Division of the Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting for a senior physician-scientist.  Expected rank will be Associate Professor or Professor, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with experience. 

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the research, teaching and/or clinical missions of the University, will sustain an externally funded individual research program consistent with the Department and School of Medicine's vision, assist in the recruitment of funded investigators, and enhance cardiology research opportunities for the division.  Ample time will be protected for research. 

Successful applicants will be accomplished investigators in translational or basic science with a focus on laboratory-based research in the areas of heart failure/transplant, pulmonary hypertension, imaging, genomics, vascular biology, complex dysrhythmias or regenerative medicine.
