For Active U.S. Military:
If you are an active duty or a retired Service member, you and your family may access quitting support through your TRICARE coverage and through Defense Department programs.
If you are in the Reserve or National Guard, check out the resources below.
For Veterans:
If you are a veteran enrolled in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) health care system, you have access to VA resources and services to help you quit smoking. Smoking treatment counseling is available at all VA medical centers, and FDA-approved smoking treatment medications are available through all VA pharmacy programs.

quitSTART is a free smartphone app for teens who want to quit smoking. This app takes the information you provide about your smoking history and gives you tailored tips, inspiration, and challenges to help you become smokefree and live a healthier life.
The quitSTART app helps you:
- Get ready to quit with tips and information to prepare you for becoming smokefree.
- Monitor your progress and earn badges for smokefree milestones and other achievements.
- Get back on track if you slip and smoke.
- Manage cravings and bad moods in healthy ways.
- Distract yourself from cravings with games and challenges.
