Summary of the Research Project:
My overall goal is to use a database of Plasmodium falciparum sequences and a dataset of HLA allele frequencies, both derived from samples collected in highly malaria-endemic areas, to identify potential malaria vaccine targets through novel computational tools and models followed by ex vivo lab investigation. We hypothesize that using genomic, proteomic, and immunoinformatic methods will help identify epitopes with high immunogenicity and effectiveness in generating a targeted immune response against local P. falciparum strains. Epitopes scored highly by our analyses and validated by our experiments will be incorporated into a multi-epitope adjuvanted vaccine targeting circulating strains of P. falciparum at multiple points within its life cycle.

About me:
After graduating from UMD College Park, I matriculated to UMSOM where I am currently an MD/PhD student! Outside of my school and work commitments, I love playing with my cat(s), baking/cooking something new, and enjoying the outdoors. My favorite things to do in Baltimore is try new restaurants, eat breakfast by the harbor with my partner, and go to flea markets. Feel free to email me if you have any questions about my research or programs or if you just want restaurant recommendations!
