Office of Admissions
The Office of Admissions recruits and matriculates those individuals most likely to enhance the overall health of our local, regional, national, and international communities through the development of new knowledge and the provision of exemplary patient care.
Each year, the School of Medicine enrolls a group of talented individuals who reflect the growing ethnic and cultural diversity of present-day society, drawing on the knowledge and skills of individuals from all segments of society.
Office of Medical Education
The mission of the Office of Medical Education (OME) is to support the educational program of the School of Medicine across the continuum through curricular oversight, education innovation, technological expertise, assessment and evaluation management, and research.
The University of Maryland School of Medicine provides and maintains an educational environment that is comfortable, technologically current, and conducive to learning. The renovated Taylor and Hosick Lecture Halls are clean, bright, modern, and designed to facilitate wireless connectivity during teaching activities.
Office of Student Affairs
The Office of Student Affairs provides guidance, advice, and administrative assistance to students enrolled in the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
The office is responsible for monitoring student registration, student progress and advancement, graduation, and all aspects of student life related to medical education. The office coordinates important milestone events for the students including the Student Clinician Ceremony, Match Day, and Graduation.
Office of Student Research
The Office of Student Research (OSR) aims to promote innovation and discovery in science for UMSOM students and trainees. Our goal is to foster student achievement in their scholarly pursuits and is responsible for all research education and research programming for UMSOM medical students and oversee the MD/Masters dual-degree programs.
The OSR provides individualized research advising and support to all UMSOM medical students across a diverse array of research opportunities. We partner with various community outreach efforts promoting research for pre-identified middle to high-school-aged students and select, eligible undergraduate students to stimulate and foster interest and excitement about careers in medicine.
