MEDT 480 Micro Lab Skills

(1 Semester hour)

This one (1) credit course will provide context and a comprehensive review of the biochemical testing and microscopy that were presented during MEDT490 (Pathogenic Microbiology). This is a hybrid course with online instruction and assessments, as well as an in-person laboratory component. The didactic portion of the course will reinforce the use of appropriate biochemical testing for the identification of microorganisms in a clinical setting. The in-person labs will begin with a thorough assessment of the basic microbiology skills acquired in MEDT 490. Students that fail to pass any of the basic skills evaluated will need to return for additional in-person labs until all skills have been successfully performed. Successful completion of MEDT 480 is a pre-requisite for MEDT471, Clinical Microbiology.
