CTSI: Regulatory Knowledge & Research Ethics Resource (RKRER)

The critical path of discovery from the individual to the public’s health must include knowledge and application of regulations related to the protection of human subjects at each step along the way. Researchers and their staff need ongoing education and oversight to consistently meet the standards of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

The overall objectives of the RKRER are to:

  • Establish a new, centralized, investigator-focused clinical and translational science investigator resource center, called the Clinical Research Initiation Service
  • Maintain and expand a quality assurance/improvement program for CTSI studies
  • Maintain and expand a new UM CTSI Center for Research Ethics
  • Translate research results into policy and practice and improve current government policies affecting research and public health through research
