Fellowship Program
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) Fellowship is a two-year program at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC), and is in partnership with the Sheppard Pratt Hospital System and State of Maryland’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH).
Our fellowship is one of the largest in the nation, and we have been training psychiatrists for more than 60 years.

Mission
To produce highly skilled, board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists who are ready to advance the field through teamwork, innovation, and technology. Our program provides high-quality patient care in a diversity of sites, including:
Residential, inpatient, partial hospitalization, community ambulatory programs, and school-based clinics.
Additional unique training experiences include: specialized clinics for early childhood, trauma, ADHD, mood disorders, and cutting-edge telepsychiatry programs. We utilize an integrative approach for understanding health, illness, and health care delivery, and employ evidence-based treatment modalities.
