"A mock scaner is available in the Center. Volunteers and patients are commonly anxious entering a medical (MRI) scanner. The mock scanner visually resembles an MRI scanner, but has no magnetic field. It therefore allows staff to acclimate subjects, including children, to the enclosed scanner environment in a safe manner. The mock scanner can also be used for training subjects to perform fMRI paradigms in a safe environment."
