Dr. Samuel Galvagno, DO, PhD, FCCM, Professor, hosted two distinguished visitors from the Ukraine on November 3rd and 4th. Dr. Sergii Dubrov, The President of the Ukrainian Society of Anesthesiology, and Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at National O. Bohomolets Medical University, and Dr. Nataliya Matolinets, Professor and Head of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care of the 1st Territorial Medical Association of the City of Lviv, were given tours of our Department, the Shock Trauma Center, ICUs, and the general operating rooms. Drs. Dubrov and Matolinets were immensely appreciative for the opportunity to share knowledge with our Department and they plan to implement many of the practices that they observed at our institution in the Ukraine.
Drs. Justin Richards, MD, Associate Professor, and Galvagno published a key paper in JAMA Netw Open on the use of norepinephrine in trauma patients. The research study was a multinational collaboration with physicians and investigators from France, Italy, and the USA. Dr. Galvagno lectured on “intrahospital transport of the critically ill” at the 2022 Asian Australian Congress of Anesthesiologists / 99th Annual Meeting of the Korean Society of Anesthesiologists (KSA) and Korean Pain Society in Coex, Seol, Korea. The meeting was attended by 3,057 participants from 46 countries.
