The Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) recently announced its 2022 UMB ICTR Accelerated Translational Incubator Pilot (ATIP) Grant awardees. Mary Ann Jabra-Rizk, Professor, SOD, Department of Oncology and Diagnostic Sciences (PI), andPeter Rock, MD, MBA, Dr. Martin Helrich Chair of Anesthesiology (Co-PI) was awarded the ICTR Innovative Collaboration Pilot Grant for their project entitled “Impact of SARS-CoV-2 mediated salivary gland dysfunction on secreted salivary antimicrobial peptides and risk of oral opportunistic infections”. The Innovative Collaboration Pilot Grant aims to stimulate innovative collaborations among faculty of the UMB Schools of Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work, UMBC, UMB, and UMCP that will involve research along the translational continuum.
