Dr. Galvagno promoted to a general officer position in the United States Air Force Reserve

Samuel Galvagno, DO, PhD, MBA, FCCM, Professor and Interim Chair, Department of Anesthesiology, was promoted to a general officer position in the United States Air Force Reserve. Colonel Galvagno was appointed Mobilization Assistant to the Command Surgeon, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.

Col. Galvagno will assist with organizing, training, and maintaining the health of 81,000 active-duty and civilian personnel located at 11 bases and more than 300 operating locations worldwide. Col. Galvagno will also serve as the liaison and adviser for all medical matters regarding mobilization, training, and equipping of over 1,100 medics from 31 Air Combat Command USAF Reserve Squadrons.
