Office of Information Services

The Office of Information Services (SOM IS) provides a variety of technical services to support the faculty, staff, and students in the School of Medicine. We maintain network infrastructure in 17 buildings assigned to the School of Medicine, and have a network presence in two additional buildings.

Server administrators provide network and e-mail accounts, storage, and backup/recovery services; anti-virus protection; and operating system patches to more than 5,000 devices. We are strategically installing wireless access points in SOM buildings and provide secure and guest access to the Internet and network resources.

Our technicians troubleshoot University-purchased desktops computers, as well as mobile devices. The software development team develops databases and applications that support activities in the Office of the Dean and across the School.

IS Systems Status

SOM IS provides support for all enterprise services and applications to all SOM faculty and staff.
