General Clinical Research Center (GCRC)

The General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) is the cornerstone for clinical research within the University of Maryland. The GCRC supports the full spectrum of patient-oriented research.

The GCRC is available to all University of Maryland investigators who have a need for Center resources and who will conduct clinical research of scientific merit. Studies funded by federal sources, foundations, industry and other sources are welcome. The GCRC welcomes pilot studies that may lead to future peer-reviewed clinical research.

The GCRC can provide investigators with the resources they need to conduct safe and precise clinical research, including facilities for both inpatient and outpatient data collection and patient care, as well as monitoring and equipment to support phase 1 clinical trials.

GCRC Advisory Committee (GAC) Meeting Dates & Application Deadlines

The GCRC Advisory Committee (GAC) meets the third Tuesday of each month.  The deadline for submission of applications is two weeks before the meeting.

Once we receive a GCRC application, the protocol is assigned to a primary and secondary reviewer, as well as a biostatistician for review. The PI is expected to briefly present their protocol at the GAC meeting. For more information regarding the GCRC application, click here: Application Process
