2022 Professors Martin Helrich and M. Jane Matjasko Annual Lecture
The 34th Professors Martin Helrich and M. Jane Matjasko Annual Lecture in Anesthesiology was held Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 5 - 6p.m in the UMMC (Trauma) Auditorium. The lecturer this year was Chad M. Brummett, M.D., Senior Associate Chair for Research, Bert N. LaDu Professor of Anesthesiology, Co-Director of Pain Research and Co-Director of Michigan Opiod Prescribing Engagement Network, University of Michigan School of Medicine. The title of his lecture was “The Role of Acute Care Prescribing in the Opioid Epidemic.”
Dr. Brummett is also presenting Grand Rounds to the Department of Anesthesiology on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 7 a.m. The title of his lecture was” Nociplastic Pain: A Novel Predictor of Acute and Chronic Post-Surgical Pain.”
