Postdoctoral Fellowship Position, University of Maryland, Baltimore

The University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Science, is pleased to announce the availability of multiple post-doctoral fellowships through the U.S. National Institute of Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR), University of Maryland Advanced Neuromotor Rehabilitation Research Training (UMANRRT) Program, in potential collaboration with the Bioengineering and Kinesiology Departments, University of Maryland, College Park or the Neurology, Orthopaedics, Geriatric, and Epidemiology Departments, University of Maryland, School of Medicine. The preferred applicant will have a recent doctoral degree, with experience/research interest in one or more the following areas:

  • Biomechanics, neuroimaging, sensorimotor and cognitive characterizations, epidemiology, and/or movement analyses related to understanding and improving neuromotor control of individuals with neurological disorders, musculoskeletal injuries, or in older adults.
  • Rehabilitation robotics, machine learning, and/or signal processing related to improving neuromotor control and rehabilitation of neurological disorders or musculoskeletal injuries.
  • A focus on interventional studies that concentrate on the interaction of neuromotor, biomechanical, cognitive, socio-economic factors, motor learning, and behavioral processes.
