How We Can Help

Difficult-to-treat depression is often defined as a failure to adequately respond to at least two antidepressant trials of adequate dose and duration. Twenty-one million individuals in the U.S. are affected by depression, with 50 percent (10.5 million) failing to respond to an initial antidepressant trial. Moreover, successive trials, including augmentation or switching antidepressants, have resulted in successively lower response rates with each added trial.

New FDA-approved antidepressant and adjunctive (add-on) agents continue to update our antidepressive armamentarium. Interventions — like TMS and intranasal esketamine — have also received FDA approval as additional treatments to help combat the challenges of depression.

Our experienced and expert providers will focus on psychopharmacological as well as interventional strategies in a consultative process with the patient. We will discuss our recommendations with the referring provider and the referred patient.
