Division of Clinical Programs
The Department of Radiation Oncology is a cornerstone of the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC), providing the most advanced radiation therapies for the treatment of cancer. Our radiation oncology experts work as part of a multidisciplinary team, along with medical, surgical and other oncology specialists, to deliver a customized treatment plan for each individual patient. This coordinated team approach to cancer care gives our patients access to the widest possible range of treatment options and the best chance for a successful outcome.
The Department of Radiation Oncology has two locations in Baltimore: the downtown acedemic center on the ground floor of the Gudelsky Building at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC), and the Maryland Proton Treatment Center (MPTC).
The Department of Radiation Oncology has community programs at four locations throughout Maryland, including Central Maryland Radiation Oncology (CMRO), in Columbia, MD, Upper Chesapeake Health Kaufman Cancer Center in Bel Air, MD, the Tate Cancer Center at Baltimore Washington Medical Center (BWMC) in Glen Burnie, MD, and the Requard Radiation Oncology Center at University of Maryland Shore Regional Health in Easton, MD.
Each site is staffed with University of Maryland School of Medicine faculty. This affiliation opens the door to leading-edge treatment modalities, cutting-edge clinical trials, and expert consultation with the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center physicians.
