Biosketch
Dr. Millstein attended the State University of New York at Buffalo for medical school before completing an internal medicine and pediatrics residency at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital and University Hospital at Case Western Reserve in 2005. She served as a 5th year chief resident for internal medicine and pediatrics at Rainbow Babies/Case before accepting a pediatric hospitalist position at Baltimore-Washington Medical Center in Maryland. She joined the University of Maryland in 2008 and is currently an Associate Professor in both Medicine and Pediatrics. She is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
Dr. Millstein is actively involved in her outpatient internal medicine clinical practice and her roles in medical education with both medical students and residents. She is currently the director of MS4 Ambulatory and the Rural-MD Scholars Program including the Rural Health Equity and Access Longitudinal Elective (R-HEALE). Since joining the University of Maryland, Dr. Millstein has received the Ambulatory Medicine Teacher of the Year Award by the Department of Medicine twice, has received external grant funding, has published with APPD LEARN on educational evaluation, and has been awarded multiple Interprofessional Education SEED Grants for her work developing an IPE curriculum on Advance Care Planning. Dr Millstein’s current research interest is medical education, including learner assessment and curricular development.
