Biosketch

Dr. Jamie Brown developed the cardiac surgery program at UM Capital Region Medical Center in order to bring world-class cardiac care to the residents of Prince George’s County. His hand-selected surgical team consistently delivers excellent patient outcomes for a wide range of cardiac surgical procedures and is regularly awarded the top national rating for excellence in Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting surgery by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.

As a cardiac surgeon, Dr. Brown treats the full range of heart disease including ischemic, structural and valvular heart disease. His surgical procedures include:

  • Aneurysm repair
  • Atrial fibrillation surgery
  • Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
  • Heart valve repair and replacement
  • Trans aortic valve replacement (TAVR)
  • Ventricular assist device

He regularly performs complex heart procedures at UM Capital Region Medical Center, where he designed the dedicated, state-of-the-art cardiac surgery operating room. Patients recover in the dedicated Cardiovascular Care floor that is part of the UM Capital Region Heart & Vascular Institute.
