Office of Student Research
Conference for the Dissemination of Student Research on Addictions, Infectious Disease, and Public Health.
The goal of the conference is to provide a forum for students, fellows, and faculty throughout the Baltimore/DC region to meet, network, and possibly develop collaborative relationships or connect students with potential employment opportunities, and prospective undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral applicants with future educational and training program opportunities, via formal (e.g., paper presentations) and informal (e.g., during poster sessions and mixer) means (students do not have to present to attend and benefit from networking and what hopefully will be very good speakers). I am hopeful that this conference will allow me and my team of students, as well as students and faculty from other institutions, the opportunity to discover employment and research opportunities.
Despite a focus on addictions, infectious disease and public health, we are eager to have students attend across allied health generally and students do not have to present to attend-in addition, there is no registration fee if registered by March 7th so it's not a money thing either-we are mainly seeking to get as much representation by multiple colleges and universities as we can.
The three keynote speakers for the conference are Wilson Compton, M.D., Director of NIH/NIDA’s Division of Epidemiology; Linda Cottler, Ph.D., Professor of Epidemiology at the Washington University School of Medicine; and David Vlahov, Ph.D., Director of the Center for Urban Epidemiologic Studies at the New York Academy of Medicine.
