Description and Goals:

The student acts as a sub-intern on a busy pediatric surgery service. The goals are to learn the scope of pediatric surgical problems and their pathophysiology, to produce a degree of comfort in the management of babies and children and to introduce the more delicate techniques of operations encountered in this surgical field.
